                                    Market Activity June 1 - July 12, 2010

In May  there were 14 homes sold in Brookline compared to 35 sold in June. The number of condominiums  sold in Brookline jumped from 65 in May to 101 in June.  The number of condominiums under agreement in Brookline increased from 12 in May to 49 in June.

Newton went from 46 sold homes in May to 90 in June. The number of properties pending jumped from 6 in May to 69 homes in June.  While the home market increased tremendously the condominium market decreased slightly. There were 59 condominiums sold in May compared to 41 condominiums sold in June.

Boston saw a tremendous increase in sales in June compared to May for the condominium market. There were 125 sales in May compared to 291 sales in June. 43 properties were pending in May and 120 properties were pending in June. 

The interest rates continue to be at 60-year low prices with 30 year fixed mortgages averaging 4.63%.
